Oakland Magazine is a glossy print publication centered in the San Francisco Bay Area under the umbrella of Telegraph Media. The magazine’s focus is on bringing relevant stories to the East Bay community of Oakland, California.
Publishing a monthly print magazine as well as an online version of its content, the magazine’s website says it best – “Oakland Magazine is essential reading for keeping up with one of America’s most engaging and under appreciated cities. Oakland is a city on the move, and so too is the magazine that proudly bears its name.
From comprehensive coverage of the trend-setting local food scene to thorough reporting about local retail and real estate, the magazine chronicles the forces reshaping our city. And our newly reinvigorated culture and news coverage documents the latest trends in arts, development, and politics. Oakland Magazine is an indispensable resource to the exceptional beauty, diversity, and quality of life of Oakland and the greater East Bay.”
From 2016 – 2020, I wrote a regular monthly column called Curator for the magazine, featuring profiles of individual visual artists in the Oakland community. It was my great pleasure to spotlight these delightful and insightful artists who enhance our day to day lives by introducing them to readers and providing a throughline to a broader audience.
