Alameda Magazine

Alameda Magazine is a glossy print publication centered in the San Francisco Bay Area under the umbrella of Telegraph Media. The magazine’s focus is on bringing relevant stories to the East Bay island community of Alameda, California.

As the sister publication to Oakland Magazine, which I have also written for, Alameda Magazine publishes a monthly print magazine as well as an online version of its content. Alameda is part of the San Francisco Bay Area, but has the look and feel of a small town of days gone by, defying the neighboring urban sprawl.

Their website says it best, “Alameda Magazine is the most authoritative guide to our island city’s wonderful quality of life. From comprehensive coverage of the trend-setting local food scene to thorough reporting about local retail and real estate, the magazine chronicles the things that make life in Alameda so special. And our newly reinvigorated culture and news coverage documents the latest trends in arts, development, and politics. Alameda Magazine is an indispensable resource to the exceptional beauty, diversity, and quality of life of Alameda and the greater East Bay.”

From 2016 – 2020, I wrote a regular monthly column called Alamedia for the magazine, featuring profiles of individual visual artists in the Alameda community. It was my great pleasure to spotlight these delightful and insightful artists who enhance our day to day lives by introducing them to readers and providing a throughline to a broader audience.
